Hamas Boycott Ended on January 25, 2015: While Israeli products have entered the Gaza Strip in the past five years and been sold there, their purchase was officially condemned by the Hamas government that runs Gaza. However, that has changed with the latest news. Now all Palestinians can freely purchase Israeli goods. “We decided to allow (Israeli) products to enter so that the market is not hindered and so products are available,” said Gaza’s Ministry of Economy. Palestinians living in the West Bank purchased more than $4.5 billion in Israeli goods last year. With Gaza now open, Israeli-Palestinian trade should climb dramatically in 2015. American and European anti-Israel protestors now alone in advocating boycott of Israel. |
