Flight to Freedom – The Ethiopian Jews journey to Israel
Our trip to Israel last summer was incredible, filming a documentary on the life of Ethiopian Jews.
We were lucky to have the chance to interview people like Asher Naim, who was the former Israeli ambassador to Ethiopia, Nir Merry who played a role in helping Ethiopian Jews escape to Israel, 3 bright Ethiopian students, Tsega who is a journalist for an Israel radio program channel who became the first not only Ethiopian but woman in this position, and many others to get a strong grasp of this topic.
The operation to Israel from Ethiopia was the biggest humanitarian aid in the shortest amount of time ever. For nearly 3,000 years, a tribe of black Jews of Ethiopia maintained their faith and identity in the face of extreme persecution. Although Ethiopian Jews went through many obstacles, they strive in the land of Israel today.
